
Dr. Chintamani was born in Lumbini, Western Nepal, the birthplace of the Buddha.
Being raised in a Brahmin family and greatly influenced by his father, he found his passion for the Sanskrit language and its philosophy at the young age of eight and went on to study Sanskrit Literature and the Eastern Philosophy which included Astrology, Mantras, Tantra, Puja, and yogic lifestyle under the guidance of various experts in Nepal and India.
During his time in India, while pursuing his higher studies, Dr, Chintamani had the opportunity to learn and practice fundamental yogic principles with aspiring yogis and various gurus. Alongside the academic subjects, Guruji also pursued his studies of Vedic literature, Eastern philosophies, Upanishads and other diverse yogic philosophies.
Journey of Yoga
While pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Chintamani gained knowledge on death, liberation of the soul, nature, incarnation and reincarnation, karma and its principles, life and afterlife, which gave him the fundamental tools that enables us to lead a truly spiritual life, attaining balance between the material and metaphysical world.
Dr. Chintamani studied under the guidance of some of the top-rated Sanskrit scholars and swamis in Nepal and India and was a disciple of great Himalayan Gurus who inspired him to practice further and embody the true essence of yoga.
He delved into various fields of teaching; Children’s yoga, yoga for the elderly and yoga teacher trainings and has over 22 years of teaching experience. Today, he is the Charter President of Lions Club Spiritual and Founder Member of T.U. Lion’s Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Kathmandu while running a Classical Yoga Retreat and Academy. He has been involved in many corporate and social responsibility projects, and he mentors students on health, lifestyle, stress management, personality development, skill and memory enhancement.
His students and followers call him “Guruji”.
